The hill is located in the central part of Plovdiv and has a total area of 220 decares. In 1995 it was declared as natural landmark with the aim to preserve the hill composed of syenite rocks which are unique geomorphologic formation with natural, scientific and aesthetic value. On top of the hill is the monument Alyosha. Over the years the hill has been subjected to directly or indirectly to human influence and as a result the original vegetation has been destroyed and many species have disappeared. Only in the highest parts there are still individual representatives of the original species: prickly juniper, European Hackberry, pistacia, Glossy Buckthorn, jujube, Genista Rumelica. The animal world is represented by green toad, common toad, green lizard, wall lizard, copper skink. Mammals – weasel, European polecat and mole. It is located in the center of Plovdiv to the west from the Main Street. In 1995 it was declared as natural landmark. It is composed of syenite rocks. Its flora is scarce due to its small area and nearness to the city’s center. Its natural grass plants are replaced by ruderal species - common chickweed, diffuse wallflower, corn-flower, etc. The natural plants are represented by separate species such as Jerusalem thorn, Manna Ash and jujube. The birds are represented by dove, titmouse, goldfinch, etc. During the Ottoman reign there was erected a Clock Tower, the earliest data for it date back in 1623. In 1812 it acquired its present look and its height is 17.5 m. In 1883 a big clock made in Vienna was placed in it which counts the hours with a bell ring.

Youth Hill/ Dzhendem Tepe

It is located at the southwestern part of Plovdiv. Declared as natural landmark in 1970. It is natural habitat for rare vegetation species such as Balkan endemytes – tutsan, Astragalus physocalux, Genista rumelica. Due to its relevant isolation, geographic location and steep heels it has many of the original species.
